Response to the Free Market

I always planned on writing a post to follow the previous one but wanted to see what other people thought first. I have to agree, when it comes to services that regular people are unable to obtain themselves without being exploited such as military, police, etc the government has the responsibility to help out everyone. The difficulty arises in determining what services people need, some would say that public schooling is one of the most important rights an individual has, others might say the opposite; this applies to many things with arguably the most important (at least in current discussion) being healthcare. Let us know what you think below.

  3. i would say most important is food/water/shelter. Healthcare a close 4th behind those three.

  4. I keep reading nightmare stories about people who are denied their insurance at very critical times - That's something that should be avoided. Maybe healthcare insurance providers should be regulated more strictly, maybe the alternative is government run.

  5. Basic stuff like food/water/shelter as Jux said. Plus jobs. Jobs for everyone.

  6. I'm sure many people are able to be self-sustainable, but they just don't know it. Is it possible to live in a city that can benefit itself? or do we always have to rely on the government?
